Kentucky Derby
Louisville Kentucky May
3, 2004
Louisville turned out to be a sweet surprise as well as
Lexington, yes the grass isdefinitely greener in Kentucky. Just a few shots to
describe a memorable trip.Of course there are beautiful horses..
This was taken at Keeneland Track in Lexington.

But the big dance is the Derby and we joined the 156,000 + who
enjoyed the day, the mint juleps and the racing,
The only sad part is what happened to 2nd
place Belle at the end
of the race.

Now Jean prides himself on NOT being a betting man, but um…that
is a program, that is a mint julep in his hand
and he sure does look the part!!!

This was the view from our seat, 156,000+ strong, a sea of hats,
color and the smell of mint juleps and cigar
smoke----Southern Folks sure do like to party!!

The Louisville Slugger Museum is a great place to visit.

And the Mayor and I had a nice talk, goodness I love a man who
listens!!
Your have or course heard of the Louisville Cardinals, but the
surprise on Sunday morning was this very friendly peacock who would have climbed
into our car if we let him!

And no, we did not have winner, but Big
Brown is surely my favorite in the rest of the Triple
Crown races!
